PupNames operates the pupnames.com website, which provides access to a database of dog names, including name meanings, origins, pronunciations and similar content around the topic of dog names.
This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service, the PupNames.com website.
For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, phone number, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you. It will be made explicitly clear to you when you are required to provide personally identifiable information.
We want to inform you that whenever you visit our Service, we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser version, pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
In order to do the best job possible of helping people to find dog names they love, we use data from user interactions with the content on PupNames.com to recommend popular and relevant dog names to other users.
We store data from each of the following interactions:
To get an understanding of how dog name preferences vary by region, the state and country of each user is stored along with each of these interactions. We detect the state and country of each user by requesting their IP Address and sending it to the geolocation API ip-api.com, which responds with the state and country associated with that IP Address.
The user's IP Address is not stored in any PupNames.com database. It is accessed momentarily by the web server, as part of an automatically executed function. And because this function is executed automatically in real time, your IP Address is never exposed to any individual associated with PupNames.com or any other user of PupNames.com.
In other words, although your interactions with PupNames.com are stored in our database and shared with other users in our Recent Activity feed, you are not personally identifiable from the information that we collect or share. The only exception to this would be if you were to voluntarily share personally identifiable information within a comment you submitted to PupNames.com.
